After evaluating some pretty impressive candidates, Consumer Reports has selected the 2016 Ford F150 for its top truck in the pickup category.

According to Consumer Reports, part of the decision was based on the F150’s redesign, improved infotainment system, spacious cabin, and fuel economy. This marks the first win in this category for Ford since 1999 and the first 1st place placement for the brand since 2012.

Consumer Reports also attributed its pick partly to the automaker’s aluminum body panel, which makes the vehicle lighter and more fuel efficient. The Sync 3 infotainment system was also touted as being an improvement over the MyFord Touch.

The brand’s initial transition to aluminum over traditional steel was not well received by consumers, and rival brands harshly criticized the switch. Sales dropped for a period in 2015. 2016, though, is a different story. Ford has already sold 112,237 units in the first two months of 2016. That’s a 2.4 percent increase from the same time last year.

The title from Consumer Reports is not the only honor bestowed upon the F150. It also received the 2015 North American Truck of the Year. On top of that, the F series was also listed as the most profitable vehicle ever made. Ford, in fact, pockets $13,000 for every F-series pickup it sells. That’s the net profit after accounting for all investment and overhead costs.

Consumer Reports lists the best vehicles for each automobile category, including best compact, subcompact, luxury, small SUV, minivan, and sports car.
