Several spy shots of the 2019 Ford Focus sedan have been released in the past few months. Not much, though, has been revealed about the 2019 Ford Focus Hatchback; that is, until now.

For starters, the overall length has been extended, and so has the wheelbase. This means a more spacious rear for backseat passengers. The hatchback, though, is a bit shorter from the previous model, which puts it more closely on par with the 2017 Ford Fiesta.

Much of the camouflage obscures the frontal area, though the grille appears to have downgraded in size. The headlights have also appeared to have gotten a facelift. Overall, the front end is very similar in design to the European version of the 2018 Ford Fiesta. Previous spy shots of the interior also revealed a design similar to the Ford Fiesta model’s cabin.

The changes are more significant in the rear where the quarter window has a more rounded design. The door aperture also appears slightly larger from the current 2017 Ford Focus.

The current Ford Focus utilizes different variants of a naturally aspirated engine, though this may be replaced with an EcoBoost engine. We suspect a 1.0-liter three-cylinder capable of delivering up to 280 hp.

No tentative release dates have been announced, though it’s believed the 2019 Ford Focus hatchback will make its debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show in January. The vehicle will be built at the automaker’s China assembly plant and may be released sometime in mid or late 2018.

Obviously, the 2019 Ford Focus is still a few months away, and the 2018 model hasn’t even arrived at Folsom Lake Ford yet. In the meantime, see what we have at our dealership, which includes an assortment of Ford parts near Sacramento, CA.
