The Ford F-150, the best-selling pickup on American soil, will soon be getting an even bigger improvement.

The automaker has announced that it will be adding a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission as part of the available engine option. It will pack 375 hp as well as a 10 hp increase from the regular V6 engine. There is also a torque increase from 420 lb-ft to 470 lb-ft of torque from the standard engine.

The engine will reportedly improve both acceleration and performance. No word has been released yet, however, regarding fuel economy.

The new engine may sound tempting, but bear in mind that the current V6 engine for the 2016 Ford F-150 is no slouch by any means. The 2.7-liter engine, after all, can zip from zero to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds flat. Not bad at all for a full-size pickup.

The Ford F-150 is also making news elsewhere. The 2018 model is getting a lot of buzz of its own. This model year will be getting a facelift, making it the pickup’s first major restyling since the 2015 model. Exterior changes may include reshaped headlights similar to those on the Ford F-350 Super Duty. The grille may also contain more chrome.

Much like the upcoming 2017 Ford F-150, the 2018 model is also expected to have the optional 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.

If you are interested in the 2017 Ford F-150 and the new engine option, the model will be released in late October 2016.
