The 2017 Ford Fusion is expected to introduce a few new options for buyers. Most notable of these is the inclusion of two new trims.

One of the new trims is the 2017 Ford Fusion Platinum. This includes a host of upgrades for the interior, including high-end leather for the steering wheel, upper door panels, and instrument panel. The seats are also heated and come with quilted inserts.

The other trim is the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport. This one is fitted with a dual-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine. The result is more speed thanks to the 325 hp that it produces. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive.

The Sports trim also comes with a few other upgrades. This includes a modified suspension with bigger tires and brakes. The Sport trim also includes the brand’s all-new pothole shock absorber system. This consists of sensors that scan the road for potholes and stiffens the shock setting to brace for impact when a dip in the road is detected.

Buyers will also have the option to include a number of driver-aiding technology. One such inclusion is the adaptive cruise control that uses radar to detect nearby vehicles and pedestrians. The system can automatically bring the car to a slow-down or even a complete halt in anticipation of an impact or collision.

If you happen to be one of those drivers who require multiple attempts to correctly parallel park, then the 2017 Ford Fusion also comes with an active park assist to help you squeeze into a tight perpendicular space.
