Getting ready for a road trip? Is your Ford Explorer ready? Before you leave, we encourage you to schedule Ford maintenance at Folsom Lake Ford so your SUV is prepared for anything.
Get an Oil Change
An oil change should be part of your routine maintenance appointments. However, if you’re getting ready to put extra miles on your SUV, it’s a good idea to schedule an oil change now instead of waiting until you get back when it could be overdue.
Inspect Your Tires
Before you leave, make sure your tires are properly inflated. You also want to make sure that you have at least 4/32 of an inch of tread to ensure you have the traction you need on any type of terrain. If you haven’t recently, now’s a good time to rotate your tires, too.
Check Your Windshield Wiper Blades
Typically, you should replace your windshield wiper blades once a year. However, you want to inspect them before a road trip in case they need to be replaced sooner. There’s no doubt you’ll need to use them when traveling on the highway with all the bugs and debris you’ll encounter.
Refill Your Windshield Wiper Fluid
Naturally, your windshield wipers aren’t going to be super useful if you don’t have any windshield wiper fluid. For your safety, you want to ensure you can completely clear your windshield at any time.
Check Your Emergency Kit
Do you have an emergency kit in your SUV? If not, now is the time. You don’t know what you may encounter on a road trip, and you want to ensure that you are prepared.
