Another amazing Super Bowl has come and gone. The promotional stints leading up to the big game is just as big of a spectacle as the event itself. For Super Bowl LLI, the 2018 Ford F-150 was announced as the league’s official pickup truck. In past Super Bowls, the Blue Oval has released prominent ads for America’s best-selling truck.

For this year, Ford representatives went beyond ads and did something special for visitors to Minneapolis who arrived a few days early for the game. As a marketing campaign, two Ford F-150s were dispatched with sleighs hooked behind them. The sleighs accommodated 18 people and were used to shuttle visitors around the city. On game day, it was used to shuttle fans from their hotels to the stadium.

A sleigh ride makes sense given the current cold climate of Minneapolis. However, since insufficient snow is on the floor, the sleighs did require the use of wheels. The sleigh rides were aptly named Built Ford Tough Sleigh Ride.

Even at capacity, the sleigh and all 18 passengers would be no problem for the 2018 Ford F-150. The pickup has a 13,200-pound towing capacity. Even if all 18 passengers weighed 300 pounds each, that would only be a total of 5,400 pounds plus the weight of the sleigh.
