The Ford brand has been mostly tight-lipped about the upcoming 2018 Ford Mustang. Despite the lack of officially announced news, the Internet is abuzz with new updates thanks to leaked images that yield new information.
Apparently, screenshots were leaked that reveal images of the 2018 Ford Mustang from an order guide. The pamphlet reveals five package options for the North American market. Three of the packages are brand new, while the other two are carryovers from the vehicle’s last mid-cycle refresh.
Much attention is centered around the three new packages. So, what are they? One is the GT Performance package, which includes a larger radiator, a bulkier rear sway bar, a K-brace and strut tower, a rear spoiler, front splitter, and six-piston Brembo brakes.
The other is the EcoBoost Performance package, which is the same as the GT Performance package minus the front splitter and K-brakes.
The final add-on is the Black Accent package, and it’s pretty much what its name suggests. This includes a number of cosmetic changes; components like the rear spoiler, badging, and 19-inch wheels are all clad in a glossy black accent.
What about performance? Nothing has been revealed yet, but one of the leaked images reveal what’s under the hood of a 2018 Ford Mustang. The photo shows a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine. The engine is also enhanced with a new direct injection system. The result should be a horsepower bump.
Any unanswered questions should be put to rest soon enough when the 2018 Ford Mustang is released in fall 2017.
